Only for the more experienced sea paddler. The Scottish coastline has many fine secluded spots to explore. Again on the Shiants.Tidal zawns are great places to explore in calm and restful sea conditions.Don't forget the sunscreen! The UK coastline has a lot in common with New Zealand, being open to great oceans and unsettled weather. However, with the right planning and leadership it's possible to enjoy some superb and remote locations. That is where Breathe can help.Loch Etive is a long sea loch close to Oban on the west coast of Scotland. Easy access by rail or road from Glasgow. The higher reaches of the loch are very remote and surrounded by high mountains. Keith Gaines paddling on a trip away from London.

Sea Kayaking

Solitude and exploring

Go paddling on lakes and the sea and view the outdoors from a wholly different perspective. Be awed by the beauty. Catch the tide and the breeze. Land on unspoilt and pristine beaches. Feel the quiet and relaxation. Sea kayaking is one of the fastest growing leisure sports in the UK and as a way to leave work behind, this is entirely understandable.

You might paddle into a remote place, camp and then walk a mountain. We work with other guides to get the very best from sea kayaking.

  • Go to Erraaid on Mull-a jewel to paddle and also for some climbing.  From Glasgow, a short journey via Oban including a ferry crossing.
  • A train to Llandudno takes you to superb sea kayaking territory on the North Wales coast and Angelsey.
  • Take your group on a multi-activity trip. By sleeper to Fort William.Wake up to the stunning scenery. Kayak from Mallaig along the sheltered waters of Loch Morar, cross to Loch Nevis into remote Knoydart and climb Ladhar Bheinn. Time to stop in The Old Forge, Inverie the most remote pub in Britain.
